1st INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL WEIMAR

They are stormy. They want to be free. 12 young people show a look into their hearts. They fight for respect, argue for coherence and fall into loneliness. They reach for the stars and look for happiness. The project “dance with chance”, exists since season 2007/08 at the DNT Weimar. It wants to give, mainly young people from difficult social environment, the possibility to express themselves through dance. The lives of the teenagers are the starting point of the development of the pieces, dealing with the social and emotional problems of adolescents: their experiences of exclusion or aggression, but also their wishes and hopes for the future. In the choreography of Tanja Matjas, three boys and nine girls, explore what they would do, if really one day everything were possible. A day is "sturmfrei" - and there are no consequences.
